Our research aims to advance fundamentals in machine learning, deep learning, and to investigate how they enable new Al methods in computer vision and natural language understanding. The goal for the research group is to conduct world-class breakthrough research in Al, demonstrated by our presence in a broad range of top-tier publications and patents.

The product group's mission is to improve people's lives by transforming state-of-the-art Al research into impactful solutions and services. Our applied and commercialization teams aim to foster new Al applications, especially those that help enable more natural human interaction with machines through voice gestures, behaviors, biometrics or from smart sensors and devices. We are well positioned to be at the forefront of the digitization of customer experience via Al techniques and systems. Due to our unique location, we are also naturally drawn toward important problems in developing countries that might otherwise be overlooked in the research community.

VinAl Al Residency Program was created to identify top young Al talents and train them to become future Al experts and tech leaders. The residents spend approximately two years directly participating in our research programs while being mentored by our world-class research staff. Since launching in July 2020, the Al Residency Program has had 62 residents and the completion of 52 practical projects as well as 48 first-authored papers accepted and published at Top-tier Al conferences. The program also records 67 Ph.D. scholarships across the world's top 20 Computer Science universities.
